Bakery cafe near the canal in Okazaki [Lignum]

The dazzling mornings suit the area with its greenery and Sosui canal. This bakery-cafe opens at 8:00 a.m. in Okazaki. Owner-chef Rikiya Sano bakes breads and campagnes, which are good ingredients for his original menu, while staying open throughout the day, saying, "I wanted to create a space like a salon in New York or a bar in Italy.

Lignum bread

About 15 kinds of freshly baked breads are available, including the most popular An Butter (220 yen), which sandwiches homemade red bean paste made from Hokkaido azuki beans and gently flavored Daisen butter produced in Tottori.

The morning and brunch menu from 8 to 11 a.m. features a healthy lineup of fruit sandwiches, homemade granola, and cobb salads. Pistachio croissants and cinnamon rolls lined up by the window are also available for eat-in. Reservations can be made for terrace seating, and dogs are welcome.
