9:30-17:00 (Last admission 16:30)
Sagawa Art Museum Raku Kichizaemon Gallery

From September 16, 2022 (Friday), a collaborative exhibition by Raku Jikyu, an artist of Raku ware with a history of over 500 years, and the design office [nendo] will be held at the Sagawa Art Museum in Moriyama, Shiga.
The Raku family is a family of potters who had a close relationship with Sen no Rikyu. This exhibition, known as the "Kichizaemon X Exhibition," is the 13th in the series of exhibitions featuring collaborations between the 15th generation of the Raku family and the objects that have deeply influenced them. The guest of this year's exhibition, nendo, is a Tokyo- and Milan-based company that has been involved in a wide range of design projects, and its representative, Mr. Oki Sato, is a talented designer who is highly acclaimed both in Japan and abroad, and is also a general producer of the Japanese Government Pavilion for the Osaka Expo 2025.
The "juwan-redox," with its vivid colors and unique shape, stirs the viewer's imagination, and the "michihwan," an object that "materializes" the inner cavity of a tea bowl, are all works that make you want to consider the thoughts and intentions behind them. Even those who are not familiar with ceramics will be drawn in by these works.
