The annual tourism promotion campaign "Winter Journey in Kyoto" will be held from January 1 (Sat) to March 21 (Mon), 2022. The centerpiece of the campaign is the "Special Open House of Undisclosed Cultural Properties," which will feature 14 sites open to the public for a limited period of time, focusing on the "architectural beauty" of National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties and temples associated with tea masters such as Rikyu, Yurakusai, and Oribe. The rally will be held at 14 temples, mainly temples related to tea masters such as Shoribu.
In addition, six "Regular Sightseeing Bus Special Courses" are available, which tour various locations according to the theme. The tour includes a lunch of Kyoto-style cuisine from a long-established ryotei (traditional Japanese restaurant), bus fare, and a visit to a temple, allowing visitors to fully enjoy sightseeing at a reasonable price. Each event is limited to a small number of participants with priority given to those who make reservations in advance so that even those with Corona disabilities can participate without anxiety. Enjoy Kyoto in winter in a relaxed atmosphere.
