An exhibition featuring Rimpa and Jakuchu works from the Hosomi Collection and the Japanese painting "Rin-ne," which depicts contemporary pop culture, is being held at the [Hosomi Art Museum] in Kyoto until December 4, 2022 (Sunday).
Rimpa and Jakuchu are still popular in Japan and abroad, and continue to influence future generations of creators. In this exhibition, characters that everyone knows will appear, borrowing scenes from the works that were the source of their creation, or even taking the place of some of the motifs.
