The artist fell in love with its loveliness at first sight.
KOJUKEI" cup and saucer

A cute design that makes you feel gentle just by looking at it. The bird cup and saucer was created by Taki Tomoda, who makes painted pottery in Kyoto.
One day, while strolling in the mountains, he came across a sign introducing wild birds, which was a kojukkei (pheasant family bird). Since then, Mr. Tomoda has not been able to forget about this bird, and as he researched various things about it, he became more and more captivated. Based on the images he found, a cup and saucer was born.
Ms. Tomoda handles all processes herself, from basecoat to painting. He has produced tableware, tea ceremony utensils, and objets d'art, and his specialty is elegant flowers, but this time, unlike flowers painted with a sense of pattern, he carefully painted the expressions of living creatures. The yellowish ground color of the pottery is painted with Kojukei's unique patterns, tints, and lovely expressions. The warp of the cup makes it easy to drink, and the gold-plated edges give it an elegant atmosphere that will grace your tea time.
