京都・伏見に誕生！スパイス欧風カレーが人気の［メドカレー舎］が実店舗をオープン

間借り営業で人気を集めていた［メドカレー舎］（京都府京都市伏見区）が、伏見・納屋町商店街内に念願の店舗を構え、新たなスタートを切った。店主の髙橋さん夫妻は絵本作家の谷口智則氏と親交があり、店内には谷口氏の大きな絵が飾られている。「この絵が似合う店にしたくて」という言葉のとおり、店内は温もりのある絵本のような空間になっている。
提供されるのは、スパイスカレーと欧風カレーのどちらの良さも兼ね備えた、スパイス欧風カレー。小麦粉不使用でありながら野菜でとろみを出し、スパイシーなのにコクと旨みがギュッと詰まったほっとする味わい。
ビーフとお好みのキーマのあいがけカレー1500円。定番のビーフカレーと、酒粕もしくは週替わりのキーマカレーが楽しめる欲張りな一皿。手作りのマンゴーラッシー550円はスパイスの刺激を和らげてくれるやさしい味わい
伏見という土地柄、酒粕を使ったメニューも人気。酒粕キーマカレーは、こんにゃくとお揚げ、根菜など粕汁のような具材を和風ベースに仕上げた、まさに京都を味わうカレーだ。
金・土曜と祝日の前日は夜も営業している。店主が集めたウィスキーなどドリンクも豊富なので、夜はハイボールと楽しむのもおすすめ。
