From the northeast corner of the busy Shichijo Kawaramachi intersection, enter a narrow alley. This restaurant, with its white walls and dignified cleanliness, was opened by Echigoya, a bonito flakes store in Fushimi that has been in business for 55 years.
Meat curry udon with black beef and kujo leeks (1,280 yen) and bonito flakes gohan (rice with hot egg), 350 yen, allow you to directly enjoy the flavor of bonito flakes. Noodles made with Sanuki no Yume, wheat grown in Kagawa Prefecture, are soft but firm.
