A set of 4 types that reproduces the taste of Kyoto's famous udon shop

Assortment set of four kinds of instant noodles from Ajika, a long-time favorite udon noodle store in Kyoto. The broth is made from a unique blend of kelp, Soda-bushi, mackerel-bushi, Uru-me-bushi, and sardine-bushi, and has a strong bottom flavor. Curry Udon, the signature dish, and Curry Ramen, whose package design was chosen for a TV program, use carefully selected spices to create an excellent match with the broth. For Kyo-no-Oudon, we recommend adding other ingredients such as fried bean curd and vegetables to create a cup to your liking. The new Kyo-no-Ou Udon noodles with matcha green tea dashi is a new taste sensation that combines the restaurant's signature dashi and mellow Uji matcha green tea. The included Ichimi, a Japanese spice, and domestic hontaka Ichimi from the famous Japanese spice store Yamatsu Tsujita, are added for an even richer flavor. [Try the noodles with a more-than-instant finish that makes the most of the characteristics of Ajimi-Ajika.

Ajimika was founded in Kiyamachi in 1969 by the previous owner, Kokichi Shimada. It started out as a food stall. The owner, who honed his skills as a Japanese cuisine chef at Kyoto's ryotei and other restaurants over many years, quickly gained a reputation for his udon, and the restaurant soon drew lines of customers. In 2010, the restaurant moved to the south side of Yasaka Shrine in Gion. The curry udon has become popular not only with local customers but also with tourists visiting from around the world. The taste was recognized in 2015 by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's Cool Japan Program as an "outstanding local product that Japan should be proud of. In addition to the Gion store, the company currently operates a total of three stores, including the Kyoto Porta store in the Kyoto Station underground mall.

The current second-generation owner, who took over the restaurant through fate, has experience studying French cuisine in France. After mastering the taste of his predecessor, who did not have a recipe, he sought to improve on his predecessor's taste and sought a broth that would suit curry udon, saying, "The broth is the key to curry udon born in Kyoto. He repeated trial and error to find the best balance of kelp and dried bonito flakes, mirin (sweet cooking sake), soy sauce, and salt. The resulting curry udon is now one of Kyoto's most popular gourmet dishes. The instant noodles developed by the owner are also very popular, allowing customers to enjoy "Kyoto curry udon" without leaving the comfort of their own home.
