登録有形文化財に指定された建物で、坂本龍馬も愛したという水炊きが楽しめる。井戸水だけで炊き上げる白濁スープは、鶏の旨みが凝縮し濃厚だが、さらりとした喉越しでやさしい味わい。

川床でも味わえる水炊きコース1万6800円〜は、皮せんべいからはじまり、八寸、焼き物、水炊き、雑炊、水物が付く。永年続く文化人や先人が愛したスープを味わうのも乙なもの。旨みが染み込んだ〆の雑炊も絶品だ。舞台中に精をつけるために通う役者もいるという水炊きで、夏の疲れを癒やしたい。
