[The Kyoto Shin Hankyu Hotel (Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture) will hold an autumn fair from September 4, 2025 (Thursday), where you can enjoy a variety of mushrooms and other seasonal delicacies in a half-buffet style. The autumn buffet will be full of the perfect accompaniment to this season, when the heat eases and appetites return.
Located on the first floor of the Kyoto Shin Hankyu Hotel, a 3-minute walk from JR Kyoto Station (Karasuma Chuo Exit), the Boulval restaurant offers a half buffet-style dining experience in a spacious and comfortable living room-like setting. The half buffet, which combines an all-you-can-eat menu with a limited choice of one main dish per person, is a great way to enjoy both the special feeling of a course meal and the freedom of a buffet. It is popular not only among hotel guests but also among local customers, such as for self-pay or girls' parties.
In this season of abundant ingredients, we are holding an autumn fair filled with seasonal delicacies. Each guest selects one main dish from a choice of six for lunch and seven for dinner. The menu includes a variety of mushrooms such as porcini mushrooms, truffles, and daikoku hon shimeji mushrooms, and each dish arrives at your table with a gorgeous appearance. Some of the menu items include dishes using morel mushrooms, which are rarely seen. The "Stewed hamburger steak with demi-glace sauce and porcini cream sauce" is a juicy hamburger steak with an aromatic sauce that intertwines perfectly with the meat. The live cheese shaving is also an enjoyable experience.
The menu also offers luxurious dishes such as "Salmon Ekaie Style with Autumn Swordfish and Daikoku Honjimeji Salad in Rosemary White Wine Sauce" (+500 yen), "Chicken Thigh Galantine with Truffle Red Wine Sauce" (+500 yen) and "Steamed in earthen pot with Matsutake Mushrooms" (+500 yen), available only for dinner.
The buffet corner offers a wide variety of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes to satisfy everyone from children to seniors. About 40 dishes, including hors d'oeuvres, salad deli, tempura (lunch only), pasta, pizza, and obanzai, are available for all-you-can-eat.
For lunch, look out for the "Shrimp and Mushroom Tempura" (lunch only), truffle omelette (lunch only on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays), and other dishes prepared in front of your eyes. Expect to see the chef's skills up close and personal. For dinner only, the restaurant also offers a table-order menu where freshly prepared dishes are delivered to your table. The five-course menu includes "assorted nigiri-zushi," "grilled beef shabu-shabu sushi," "sea bream shabu-shabu," and more. You can enjoy a special experience that is different from that of lunch.
For dessert, the "Petit Tart Collection," which was popular last year, is back. The tarts, which use autumn fruits such as apples and grapes, are bite-sized, so you can enjoy as many flavors as you like. New on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays is the "Okonomi Monaka" with a choice of red bean paste and toppings. You can choose your favorite bean paste from five types: tsubu-an, chestnut red bean paste, black sesame red bean paste, zunda red bean paste, and yuzu red bean paste. In October, purple sweet potato red bean paste and pumpkin red bean paste will be available for Halloween.
There are also a variety of Japanese and Western sweets such as "Tea Panna Cotta," "Dorayaki Roll," and "Yatsuhashi with Apple and White Bean Paste," so don't forget to leave room for dessert! If you are so inclined, be sure to leave some room in your stomach for dessert.
