[The sister restaurant of Yoshidayama Seseri, which was a legendary yatai stall in front of Yoshida Shrine for 40 years and later became a popular restaurant near Kyoto Station, has opened. The owner, Hiroyuki Yanagi, runs the restaurant with his family, cherishing the flavors inherited from his grandfather who started the stall, including the famous seseri.
The specialty seseri 300 yen, limited to one per person, is a sumptuous portion of two seseri, the part of the fish around the neck. Mr. Yanagi's mother, who has been in the business for about 50 years, skillfully rolls the fish to lock in the flavor and grill it.
Kuro (Chicken Motsuni) (400 yen): whole Oama cherry nuts, kumquats, and the membranous part of the breast meat, etc., are stewed in a bowl. The sweet and spicy seasoning with a hint of ginger makes the drink go down a treat. Sansho chu-hi (chu-hai with Japanese pepper): 750 yen. Sansho (Japanese pepper) is soaked in shochu (distilled spirit) to extract the extract of the pepper. The spiciness is refreshing and addictive. Chewing on the sansho can also accentuate the flavor of dishes.
