Jijibaba Mokubatei

[Jijibaba Kibutei] in Karasuma is a bar in town where you can also enjoy lunch.

This bar opened five years ago as the fourth branch of the popular izakaya [Sake-no-Azakaya Jibaba] in the Lido restaurant district. A large antique French wooden horse, which is the origin of the restaurant's name, welcomes you inside. The menu is full of dishes that make drinks go down well, using venison directly from hunters in Tanba Sasayama and fresh vegetables from the owner Nakamura's hometown of Kameoka.

The filling is simple and the noodles are the star of the show at 968 yen. Lunch is available in three different sizes, and a set menu with salad and mini dry curry is also available.

Popular for lunch and as a topping for dinner, Neapolitan noodles are made by soaking the dried noodles in water overnight and then boiling them for one minute, which gives them a surprisingly firm texture. The mild and rich sauce, sauteed with plenty of onions and butter, is well mixed with the noodles, creating an addictive taste.
