The approach is like passing through an old townhouse. This is a new spot created by the popular nightclub [WORLD KYOTO] in Kiyamachi. The building, which was originally a warehouse, was renovated and opened as a daytime-only facility in response to the coronavirus pandemic, which makes it difficult to open at night. Just like a warehouse where goods are transported back and forth, ``I hope it will become a platform where people can interact through food, art, etc.,'' says World Warehouse director Arai.
At the coffee stand on the first floor, you can enjoy hand-brewed cups using beans from Coffee Base Kanondo and Okaffe Kyoto, and at the counter, you can enjoy Hachette Dessert-style sweets prepared right in front of you by pastry chef Kazuyoshi Ishikawa.
On Sundays, food events are held, including collaborations between chefs active mainly in the Kansai region. There are also plans to focus on alcoholic beverages such as wine and cocktails, allowing you to enjoy daytime drinking. In addition to food, we plan to hold pop-up style events in genres such as art and apparel.
The free space on the second floor, where the ceiling, walls, and floor are all white, looks like an art piece. I look forward to seeing Kyoto's new culture born in this space with a high degree of freedom.
