On February 23 (Fri., holiday), 2024, a dinner event "The Fukui Gourmet Discovery - Fukui no gochisou e yossa" will be held at Hotel Granvia Kyoto, featuring dishes using Japanese sake and ingredients from Fukui Prefecture.
The event spotlights the "food" of Fukui Prefecture, offering course meals using Fukui ingredients such as Wakasa beef and Kuzuryu maitake mushrooms, as well as winter delicacies such as yellowtail, snow crab, and Tsuruga sea bream. The menu also features a variety of dishes closely related to sake, such as fish dishes finished with sake sauce, nigirizushi made with French cooking techniques using sake lees, and sweets made with rice produced in Fukui Prefecture, allowing visitors to enjoy pairing sake with their food.
Of note is the all-you-can-drink free flow of 10 different types of sake, one from each of Fukui Prefecture's 10 sake breweries.
