From June 23 (Fri.) to July 2 (Sun.), 2023, "ART STORY 80th Commemorative Exhibition of the 80th Anniversary of the Kyoto Japanese Painters' Association" will be held at the Kyoto Culture Museum to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the association's founding.
The Kyoto Nihonga Kyokai was established in 1941 as a comprehensive organization of the Kyoto art world. The main purpose of the association is to promote Japanese-style painting through mutual exchanges among members across different factions and the training of future artists, thereby contributing greatly to the development of Kyoto's art scene.
This exhibition will present approximately 130 works by members of all ages who have joined the association since its 70th anniversary exhibition, delivering new energy to the Kyoto Japanese Painters Association. Discover new possibilities and attractions of Japanese-style painting in Kyoto, and feel its long history and tradition.
