As one of the art programs of "Kyoto International Film Festival 2023" to be held from October 13 (Fri.) to 15 (Sun.), 2023, a new painting created in collaboration with a long-established cotton cloth merchant in Kyoto, Eirakuya, and an artist, COOKIE, will be exhibited at Hosotsuji Ihei Hosotsuji Art Museum].

The title of the work is "Chikyu Shacho Umi Hashimushi" (Earth President Overseas). The motif of the work is based on Ihei Hosotsuji XIV, who said, "I feel like a person who rules the land, sky, forest, and the depths of the earth. Incidentally, the land is a leopard, the sky an eagle, the forest a gorilla, and the depths of the earth a skull, and I feel like I am taming them," explained Mr. Okakenta in place of Mr. COOKIE who was absent due to illness.

Mr. Hosotsuji, who had fallen in love with his powerful drawings, said, "I feel not only the power but also the delicacy in COOKIE's drawings," and was deeply moved that the project he had been working on for five years finally took shape, saying, "I am grateful that it exceeded my expectations.
