A 5-minute walk from Shijo Subway Station and Hankyu Karasuma Station. It is located on the 4th floor of a building, so it is a little hard to find, but there is a sign near the stairs on the first floor. Opened in 2019 as an Indian curry restaurant in the center of Kyoto city. I come here when I want to eat Indian curry after work. You can't imagine it from the outside of the restaurant, but once inside, it is a spacious restaurant with 65 seats, perfect for larger drinking parties, and there is also counter seating so you can easily use the restaurant by yourself.

There is an all-you-can-eat menu and various a la carte menus, but we had the B set (1,580 yen). The set includes a choice of two curries, plain naan or rice, chicken tikka, salad, and a drink.

We start with a salad with orange dressing and a lot of mayonnaise. It is delicious and full of flavor.
You can choose from several types of curry, including daily specials and kitchin curry. In addition to this set, you can also choose from an easy set with one type of curry or a hearty cheese naan set, depending on your mood or how hungry you are that day.

On this day, I added 100 yen and had the garlic chicken curry and the keema curry. You can choose your curry from sweet to super spicy, and the "normal" was just right for me as I sometimes felt a little spicy. The chicken tikka included in the set was crispy on the outside, packed with meat, spicy, and very satisfying. I was thinking of ordering a lassi or something sweet after dinner, but I was so full that I couldn't even fit that in.

ALOK Kyoto Karasuma is an Indian restaurant [ALOK Kyoto Karasuma] with excellent accessibility where you can enjoy everything from a la carte to all-you-can-eat, from lunch to dinner. Curry lovers should definitely visit.
