From February 2026 through the summer, 16 stores will gradually reopen following renovations at [Kyoto Porta] (Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture), a shopping complex directly connected to Kyoto Station. In addition to existing stores undergoing relocation or renovation, new stores offering a diverse range of merchandise—including character goods, fashion, and gourmet food—will open, transforming the complex into a destination that caters to an even wider variety of customer needs.
In terms of retail, the lineup includes [Disney Store], which carries original Disney merchandise; [H&F BELX], specializing in decaffeinated teas; and the dessert concept store [Apple & Butter. & Strawberry Waltz], and the fashion brand [DouDou], among others—including stores opening for the first time in Kyoto Prefecture.
In addition, in the summer of 2026, the [Kyokonomi] souvenir zone in the East Area will undergo a complete renovation. A large new Kyoto souvenir shop—featuring a selection ranging from long-established brands to new favorites—will open, and the sales floor design and aisles are scheduled to be completely revamped.
