The Gion Festival, Kyoto's big summer event, will return in 2022 for the first time in three years with a procession and stalls! In Yoiyama, many restaurants will offer limited menus of exquisite gourmet foods that can only be enjoyed at this time.
The first festival is a pedestrian zone, and the second festival is the post festival, where Takayama makes a full-fledged comeback after a 196-year absence. Both events are not to be missed.
Now, let's go out to the Gion Festival with a gourmet map in hand!
