Kinako to Torori, a take-out specialty store of warabimochi (rice cakes) by Kissho Karyo, a sweets cafe in Gion, Kyoto, will open on Thursday, January 20, 2022.
The strawbutter cakes, which are cooked in the store every day, are covered with Kichijo Karyo's special deep-roasted soybean flour, which gives them an irresistible "melt-in-your-mouth" raw texture.
They will offer a variety of products from the standard kinako (soybean flour) to seasonal warabimochi made with ingredients from the four seasons.
