Arashiyama Benkei is a Kyoto-style ryokan (Japanese inn) located directly across from Arashiyama. The seared mackerel sushi, which has been offered as one of the grilled dishes to guests, is now available online so that it can be used as a gift.
The dish is made with a combination of seared, fatty mackerel, rice seasoned with shibazuke pickles, and sprinkled with yuzu (Japanese citrus fruit).
