The Shiga Prefectural Museum of Art opens on June 27th!

The Museum of Fine Arts, Shiga, is newly opened. By removing the word "modern" from the original name of the museum, it gained unlimited possibilities not bound by any era or trend. Through unique collections and exhibits that transcend disability and gender, the museum provides an opportunity to think about "what art means to human beings," and as a place where visitors can feel more deeply about our increasingly diverse society and environment, it offers a learning opportunity that goes beyond age, gender, and position to everyone. The first exhibition to be held at the museum is "Soft Territory," which will be held throughout the entire museum. The works of 12 young artists with connections to Shiga will be on display, and their out-of-the-box expressions will be linked to the newly launched "The Museum of Art, Shiga". In addition, a café, kids' space, and other relaxing areas have been newly established. A new symbol of Shiga has been created that everyone will want to visit.
