Kodaiji Temple was built by Nene Kodai-in, the wife of the feudal lord Toyotomi Hideyoshi, as a memorial to him and as his final resting place. The weeping cherry trees in the garden in front of the hojo and in the Hashinniwa Garden are beautifully set up during the special spring viewing period, adding to the splendor of the temple.
