The restaurant is headed by Yukihiro Yamada, who has been dedicated to Japanese cuisine for more than 33 years and trained under Nobuyuki Usui of the Kyoto Koyukai. He delights his customers with his course meals that incorporate his unique sense of fun with his solid skills.
The owner, Yukihiro Yamada, was born in Kyoto. After graduating from junior high school, his love of cooking led him to the world of Japanese cuisine, which he was familiar with. He honed his skills at famous restaurants in Kyoto and Ginza for about 33 years before setting up his own restaurant this spring.
I have been following a master with a playful mind for about 20 years, so I have adopted such a style myself. In summer, he uses ayu (sweetfish) and salt to create a scene of ayu fish moving upstream, and grasshoppers made of shuro leaves are used to create grasshoppers. Lunch from 5,000 yen, dinner from 15,000 yen.
The lunchtime-only gozen (set meal) for 5,000 yen is enchanting just to look at. The set includes 13 seasonal dishes, rice, and rice with clear soup.
