Shigeo Kimura, the ninth-generation owner of YAKURIKUTEI, located halfway up Mt. Inari, started this cafe with his wife soon after returning to Japan, inspired by a cafe in Melbourne, Australia, where he had spent 18 years. Initially operating in a corner of YAKURIKUTEI, the café gained popularity and opened [Vermillion-espresso bar & info.] in 2013 and [Vermillion - cafe.] in 2016. Locals frequent the bar for its authentic espresso coffee and homemade menus that use many Kyoto ingredients.
