Ramen Tensho opened last spring along the Kamo River in Nishigamo, serving the original Kyoto ramen with back fat. The restaurant is run by a female chef who trained at the famous Shiga restaurant Yamasan Ramen. Three types of ramen are available: soy sauce, miso, and salt, but we recommend the soy sauce ramen. The soup, based on chicken stock and pork bones, has a light and refreshing taste that many people end up drinking it down. It is a dish that Kyotoites will feel nostalgic for, and is a must for Kyoto ramen lovers. Spacious table seating is also available, making it a great place for a family meal. The photo shows ramen (ordinary) for 750 yen. This is the original Kyoto ramen with a lot of back fat. The light, sweet soy sauce flavor is popular among women and children.
