Seimei Shrine in Nishijin is dedicated to Abe Seimei, an onmyoji from the Heian period.

The deity is Prince Seimei Abe, an astronomer and the founder of the unique Yin-Yang path.
The shrine is known as a shrine for "warding off evil spirits" and "banishing evil spirits," and is revered by a wide range of generations, as Lord Seimei was widely trusted during his lifetime by emperors, nobles, and common people alike to rid them of their worries and suffering. The shrine is also known as "Sai Inari Shrine," which enshrines Inari and two other deities, and there is a theory that Lord Seimei is the reincarnation of Inari. The grounds of the shrine, including the bellflower garden, are planted with 2,000 bellflowers, whose cobalt blue and white petals bloom prettily from June to September.
