The new store by MOTOI, one of Kyoto's leading modern French restaurants, specializes in gyoza. It all started with the gyoza that owner and chef Hajime Maeda made for his daughter.
``I was worried about going out to buy things early in the morning and returning home late at night after work, and not having much time to spend with my daughter.I wanted my daughter, who loves gyoza, to be happy, so after returning home, I repeatedly made prototypes and this was born. This is the gyoza,” Maeda said. In May of this year, during the coronavirus pandemic, they started selling it in stores and online to help people prepare meals at home, and it quickly became popular, leading to the opening of a store.
