Chion-in Temple
Chion-in Temple is the head temple of the Jodo sect of Buddhism and was founded in 1175 by Honen Shonin, the founder of the sect, who built a hermitage near the present Mikado Hall.
2025年10月25日（土）～11月19日（日）には、国宝三門楼上の特別公開が行われる。2025年11月19日（日）〜12月7日（日）には、京友禅の祖・宮崎友禅斎ゆかりの庭園「友禅苑」、日本最大級の木造二重門「三門」、女坂、方丈庭園などがライトアップされる。広大な敷地内が照らされる様は圧巻。
