I love Impression's Animals, Birds, and Insects" is being held at the Impression Domoto Museum of Art until November 23, 2023 (Thursday, national holiday).
Many painters have grappled with the theme of how to depict moving creatures such as animals, birds, and insects. Impression Domoto (1891-1975) was one of these artists, and while he inherited the traditional sketching techniques of the Kyoto art world, he was active in painting many living creatures in a variety of genres.
This exhibition introduces how Impression faced and expressed animals. Take this opportunity to enjoy the changing animal paintings from period to period, from realistic expressions in pursuit of realism to the humorous and diverse impressionistic art of animals.
