The mountain lodge where Jozan Ishikawa, a vassal of Tokugawa Ieyasu and later a Chinese poet, spent his later years. Today, it is also a temple of the Soto sect. It was called Ototsuka, which means a dwelling built on uneven land, and it was named Shisendo because of the portraits and poems of Shisen Sanjuro.
