祇園祭くじ取り式「山一番」が決定！前祭は占出山、後祭は役行者山に
祇園祭のハイライト、山鉾巡行の順番を決める「くじ取り式」が7月2日（水）、京都市中京区の［京都市議会場］で実施された。くじ引きは応仁の乱後、山鉾巡行が再興した1500年に、先陣争いを避けるために始まったとされており、全34基の山鉾のうち、10基は慣例で順番が決まっている「くじ取らず」。厳粛な雰囲気の中、残る24基の山鉾の代表者が、予備くじ順で登壇してくじを引いた。
7月17日（木）・前祭の山鉾巡行では、くじ取らずで先頭の長刀鉾（なぎなたほこ）に続く「山一番」が占出山（うらでやま）に、また7月24日（木）・後祭の山鉾巡行は、くじ取らずで先頭の橋弁慶山（はしべんけいやま）と南観音山（みなみかんのんやま）に続く山が役行者山（えんのぎょうじゃやま）に決定。
