元々は、大正15年に創業した御菓子司［若狭屋吉勝］に併設する甘味処として誕生した［月ヶ瀬］（京都府京都市中京区）。評判となったあんみつやぜんざいは世代を超えて愛され続けており、今や創業100年を迎える甘味専門店として一子相伝の味を守っている。名物のあんみつは、口の中でほどけるような柔らかさに仕上げた寒天、ふっくら炊いた赤えんどう豆と求肥、それに絡む餡や黒蜜など、すべてが優しく織り重なっている。

店内で楽しめる甘味は、京菓子用の最高級の素材を使用し、すべて手作りで提供される。冬季にはぜんざい、夏季にはかき氷など季節限定のメニューもあるので、季節が変わるたびに訪れたい。夏季限定のあんみつ氷は、「あんみつもかき氷も両方食べたい」というわがままを叶えてくれる贅沢な一杯だ。かき氷は、高島屋店でも提供。
