Kyoto Cooking Class for Parents and Children

Parents and children enjoy learning together during summer vacation! Kyoto Cooking Class for Parents and Children" is now accepting applications!

The popular "Kyoto Cooking Class for Parents and Children" will be held again this year for elementary and junior high school students living or going to school in Kyoto City and their parents. In the class, participants will learn about the history and culture of Kyoto cuisine and the spirit of hospitality, and in the hands-on experience, they will learn about "dashi (soup stock) tasting," "market tour," and "making mini tatami mats (tatami coasters).
Kyo ryori is not only for eating, but also for its hospitality, decoration, utensils, and tools. This is a rare opportunity to enjoy learning about traditional Japanese culture through lectures from professionals in various fields. This summer vacation, experience the charm of Kyo ryori. Parents and children who can participate in all six lectures are eligible to apply.
