[Jingoji Temple], which is related to Kukai, the founder of Japanese esoteric Buddhism, located halfway up Mount Takao. From in front of the main hall, the fresh greenery of the mountains of Kyoto, which Kukai and others must have seen, spreads out in front of you. From the maple trees that stand on both sides of the stairs, you will be captivated by the transparent blue maple leaves hanging down.

Saimyoji Temple was founded in the Heian period by Chisen Shonin, the nephew of Kobo Daishi (Kukai). It is known for its natural scenery that changes with the seasons: cherry blossoms and azaleas in spring, fresh greenery in summer, autumn foliage in autumn, and snowscapes in winter. During the season of fresh greenery, you can enjoy both the green maple trees growing in the precincts and the red autumn leaves near the entrance at the same time.

Kozan-ji is a World Heritage site founded in the Nara period and revived by Myoe Shonin in the Kamakura period. From the porch of Sekisui-in, a national treasure that houses precious cultural assets such as the national treasure Choju-jinbutsu-giga, you can overlook the fresh greenery overlooking Mukoyama. Spend a relaxing moment while gazing at the various shades of blue maple leaves in the majestic landscape.

Crossing a special suspension bridge over the Kiyotaki River, you are already in another world.
