Zaki Fuyamachi (Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture) opened in an 80-year-old private house. Once inside, you will find a homey atmosphere where you can casually enjoy Japanese cuisine.
This restaurant opened as an affiliate of Ristorante Noro, an Italian restaurant in Nijo. The chef is Mr. Ueno, who trained at Kyoto Kitcho. He also gained experience under the owner chef Noro of Ristorante Noro for about a year before the opening. Under the concept of "making Japanese food more accessible," the restaurant offers a rice bowl set for 2,750 yen at lunch time.
Oyako-don (oyakodon) with Tamba chicken and a dark red egg, using dark red egg with a red yolk. Charcoal-roasted kujo-negi (green onion) adds an accent to the dish. The set comes with three kinds of seasonal vegetables and obanzai (side dishes).
The oyakodon is a bowl of rice topped with a layer of charbroiled Tamba Jidori chicken, which is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the seafood menchikatsu-don, a homage to Ristorante Noro's signature dish. The Seafood Menchikatsu-don is a bowl of rice topped with a menchikatsu cutlet that is as juicy as meat, while being made with seafood.
In the evening, the restaurant offers an a la carte menu featuring seasonal delicacies. A wide variety of sake and other alcoholic beverages are also on standby, making it a great place to go both day and night.
