In 2024, [Mikazuki Ice Shop] (Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture) relocated and opened from Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture to Kiyomizu Gojo, Kyoto. The store's name comes from the fact that we were helped by Mitsuboshi Ice House in Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture, before we opened, and our desire to do our best to make the crescent moon approach a full moon," says the owner, Mr. Ikeda.
The ice, the type of which was changed after the relocation, is purchased from an ice-making company in Mie Prefecture. The pure ice is frozen slowly over a long period of time, making it packed and hard to melt. The thinly shaved ice is fluffy to the eye and surprisingly soft to the palate.
All syrups and ingredients for the ice are homemade, and in addition to the standard Uji Kintoki and Uji green tea, they also have a limited-time menu featuring seasonal fruits on standby.
