The owner, Sachiko Sugimoto, opened the restaurant after retiring from work to compete with her favorite eel. The restaurant serves large-sized Japanese eel steamed and then grilled in the Kanto style. In addition to eel bowls, eel rice balls, and hittu-mabushi, the rare "eel morning" is limited to five servings a day and includes a bowl of rice topped with a quarter-sized eel and a fried egg, soup, grated yam, and a drink, making it an inevitable morning delight.
