A 100-year-old machiya (townhouse) café tucked away in a stone-paved alleyway on the south side of the Kyoto Imperial Palace. The first floor is a pure coffee shop with a counter, and the second floor is a cat café where you can meet cute cats. 1 hour for 1,650 yen plus one drink is all you need to enjoy tea time with the cats. The cats, all with unique personalities, are friendly and relaxing, and will come right up to you and nuzzle you up. The specialty, kitten cream soda, is irresistible to cat lovers. Ordering one is a must.
