A special exhibition commemorating the 850th anniversary of the birth of Shinran Shonin (1173-1262), founder of Jodo Shinshu, "Shinran: Life and Treasures" is being held at the Kyoto National Museum from March 25 (Sat) to May 21 (Sun), 2023.
The 90 years of his life of seeking and evangelism are extensively introduced, including his autographs, writings, and letters, as well as statues, shadow images, picture scrolls, and other Dharma treasures that have been kept by temples of various Jodo Shinshu sects.
