Cafe Rob Kyoto" is the first restaurant to open in the Kansai region from the Tokai area. The specialty of this shop is the fluffy pancake. The key to this is the "batter" and "cooking method. The batter is made with dried egg whites instead of the inagel and baking powder commonly used in pancakes, which gives the pancakes their original fluffy meringue texture. Another key point is the "cooking method." By using a copper plate specially designed for pancakes, the pancakes can be cooked evenly and faster than ever before, thus maintaining the fluffy texture to the maximum extent possible.



This has allowed them to keep that texture for a relatively long time, and they are now also available for takeout.

Did you see it? This fluffy shaking! Put a fork in and take a bite first. The Bonsai Hojicha Pancake is served with custard cream and a sauce with plenty of hojicha added. When served with the crispy rusks surrounding it, the contrast between the gentle texture of the pancake and the sauce is delightful. The rich hojicha sauce is a must for tea lovers.



Next, we had the Kyoto store's limited edition Garden Matcha Dakko Pancakes. The pancake was completely covered with a layer of matcha-kneaded gyuhi, which was then topped with an abundance of matcha powder. As I continued eating, I found fresh cream and red bean paste hidden under the sticky Gyuhi. Both are not to be missed. The light texture of the pancake makes it easy to eat.



When the weather is nice, take out these pancakes and a drink and go to the Kamogawa River right in front of you. It will be nice to sit down for a while and relax while chatting. Of course, the drinks are also full of specialties. Check out the cheese tea that is expected to be popular in the future, the cheese foam drink filled with tapioca made from carefully selected high quality tapioca flour imported directly from the real Taiwan and brown sugar from Miyakojima Island in Okinawa Prefecture, and the lemonade tea with a refreshing flavor based on jasmine tea.

Another featured menu item is Rob's burger, a meaty patty of beef 100%. The spicy patties are paired with a Mexican-flavored cobb sauce. Although the patties are meaty, they are 100% beef, so they are lighter than ground beef patties. The burger is easy to eat, even for girls.



In front of the terrace seats is the Shirakawa River, a famous cherry blossom viewing spot. You will have a pleasant time during cherry blossom viewing and the season of fresh greenery.
