A new product introduced in March 2025 by Biju Co., Ltd. which manufactures and sells Kyoto's famous sweets, Nama-Yatsuhashi with tsubu-an (sweetened raw yatsuhatsu). The dough, which is about twice as thick as usual, is made of fine-grained glutinous rice flour and meringue, and has a fluffy texture that is completely different from that of conventional otabe. The dough is made with azuki beans purchased from contract farmers in Tokachi, Hokkaido, and Japanese butter, and the butter is cooked to a smooth texture, making it a perfect match for the koshi-an butter.
