Coffee to go with the crispy canele [Coffee and Canele Kyoto]

September 08, 2023 open

A popular canulé store from Toyohashi, Aichi Prefecture, has opened its first store in Kyoto on Gokomachi-dori. Upon entering the warmly lit store, one is enveloped by the sweet aroma of canele and coffee.

From left front: Phrase Chocolat 528 yen, cannelédeBordeaux 440 yen, Cafe Latte 660 yen.

The large, thick, firm copper mold produces a crispy outer crust and a chewy inner crust, giving the canele its unique flavor. A total of six types of canele are freshly baked every day, so be sure to try both the regular and flavored canele.

Freshly ground coffee with a well-balanced flavor goes well with canele, and a latte menu with espresso is also recommended.

There is seating not only on the first floor, but also on the second floor, so you can relax and there are power outlets. It is also recommended to eat outside during the fall and spring seasons.
