[Pizzeria Al Camino is a wood-fired pizza restaurant located in Shijo-Omiya. It is the third branch of the popular Italian restaurant Ca' Del Viale, located in a house near Nijo Station. What catches the eye in the bright and open store with glass walls all around is the large wood-fired oven with blue tiles, just like the real thing. Using several types of carefully selected wood, pizza is instantly baked at a high temperature of over 400 degrees Celsius. The thick dough, crispy on the surface and chunky on the inside, has the aroma of a wood-fired oven. The flour, mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce, ham, salami, and other ingredients used for the dough are all made in Italy.

Pizzeria Al Camino offers a variety of pizzas, from the standard tomato sauce-based Margherita and Bismarck to the cheese-filled Quattro Formaggi, to the original Pizzeria Al Camino with Kyoto's seasonal vegetables. In addition, customers can enjoy meat and fish dishes prepared in a wood-fired oven, as well as a variety of Italian appetizers. The restaurant also offers a full lineup of drinks to accompany the dishes. Italian draft beer, a rarity in Japan, is also available. It is refreshing and surprisingly sharp, and goes great with pizza. In addition, Italian wines and homemade limoncello are also available, so you can fully enjoy the taste of Italy through beverages as well.
