Kyoto Cooking Class to be held on September 19, 2025 to learn from the next generation of Kyoto chefs

Kyoto Cooking Class with Souvenirs of Kyoto Vegetables: Learn from the Next Generation of Kyoto Chefs on September 19 (Fri.)

On Friday, September 19, 2025, a special cooking class will be held at the [Kyoto Food Culture Museum: Ajikai-kan] (Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture)—a two-minute walk from JR Tanbaguchi Station—featuring young chefs from Kyoto’s long-established ryotei and restaurants as instructors.

For this event, we welcomed Mr. Yoshinori Tanaka, the sixth-generation proprietor of the long-established restaurant [Torimai], founded in 1888, as our instructor. With the cooperation of the Kyoto Local Products Association, we prepared a menu featuring an abundance of fresh Kyoto vegetables.

Here, you can learn up close about traditional flavors and the unique techniques of Kyoto cuisine, starting with chicken dishes—as reflected in the name “[Torimai].”

Plus, participants will receive a souvenir of Kyoto vegetables! Why not take this opportunity to join us?
