[2026] Recommended Beer Gardens & Rooftops in Kyoto...
As we enter September, the first signs of fall are starting to appear. In Kyoto and Shiga, a wide variety of events—from art and food festivals to hands-on activities—are taking place all over the region, both indoors and outdoors! Our editorial team has selected some of the events that caught our eye to share with you. Be sure to check out the spots that pique your interest.
"Re: Kyoto Exposition 2026," an outdoor festival-style exposition reviving the "First Kyoto Exposition" held in 1871 (Meiji 4), will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at [Okazaki Park] (Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture). The venue will feature booths spanning a wide range of genres—including art, fashion, antique goods, handmade items, food, and sweets—and will also offer live performances and other entertainment. Since the event brings together people active in diverse fields from both Japan and abroad, one of its main attractions is the opportunity to experience cultures you might not normally encounter. Come to Okazaki—one of Kyoto’s premier cultural hubs—and enjoy discovering unique items and experiences.
