Sneaking into a Thief’s House?! “The Great Thief’s House,” an interactive exhibition where visitors take center stage, is now open at the Kyocera Museum of Art in Kyoto.

April 11, 2026 (Sat) – June 14, 2026 (Sun)
10:00-18:00 (last admission/17:30)
Kyoto Kyocera Museum of Art, Main Building, North Corridor 2F

From Saturday, April 11, 2026, through Sunday, June 14, 2026, the [Kyoto City Kyocera Museum of Art] (Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture) will host “The Great Thief’s House,” an exhibition featuring immersive entertainment.
This exhibition is designed to put visitors in the spotlight, with the premise that they are sneaking into the home of a famous master thief. The exhibition space is divided into eight rooms, each featuring a collection of mysterious objects that lead to even more mysteries. As visitors proceed through the exhibition, they use the items displayed in each room as clues to piece together the master thief’s true identity. Furthermore, precious artworks from the [Kyoto City Kyocera Museum of Art]—stolen by the master thief—are also set to make an appearance. Who exactly is the master thief? Will you manage to escape the house safely? Come and enjoy an experience that immerses you right into the story.

Infrared sensors are set up all around the exit. If you trigger one, a loud alarm will go off, and the master thief who’s out might come back. Let’s escape without being noticed.
