From Sunday, September 13, 2026, through Monday, October 5, 2026, the “The 50th Anniversary OSAMU GOODS Exhibition” will be held at [Daimaru Kyoto] (Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture).
OSAMU GOODS is a character brand created by illustrator Osamu Harada, inspired by the British folk tales known as Mother Goose. The imagery draws on the girls seen in 1960s American magazines like *Seventeen* and the cute actresses appearing in Hollywood movies. Mr. Harada’s definition of “cute”—“a bright, unpretentious, and healthy expression, with a hint of loneliness or poignancy as a subtle undertone”—is vividly expressed in his work.
