From Friday, April 25, 2025, to Sunday, September 7, 2025, the [Kyoto City Kyocera Museum of Art] (Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture) will host the first large-scale print exhibition by world-renowned avant-garde artist Yayoi Kusama, titled “Yayoi Kusama: The World of Prints—Repetition and Proliferation—from the Collection of the Matsumoto City Museum of Art.”
This exhibition features approximately 330 works, including prints from the collection of the [Matsumoto City Museum of Art] in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture—Kusama’s hometown—as well as works from the artist’s private collection. The exhibition is packed with highlights, including a series of works featuring Mount Fuji created using traditional ukiyo-e woodblock prints, as well as the “Love Is Eternal” series, which took approximately four years to complete. Since the entire collection will be rotated between the first and second halves of the exhibition, we recommend visiting twice. Come to Kyoto to experience firsthand the colorful world woven from her unique motifs.
