Enjoy a Casual Cultural Experience at Kyoto Station! Workshops Accepting Same-Day Reservations Begin on Tuesday, September 8 at [NIWA]

Starting Tuesday, September 8, 2026, Kyoto Cultural Experience Workshops will begin at the Art Terrace Lounge [NIWA] in the East Plaza on the 7th floor of the Kyoto Station Building (Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture). Held regularly on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the workshops offer hands-on experiences related to the culture and crafts passed down through generations in Kyoto, such as ikebana, yuzen dyeing, gold leaf application, bamboo crafts, and Kyoto-style armor.
The experience lasts about 40 to 60 minutes, and since same-day reservations are accepted, it’s a great option to join on a whim—whether you’re sightseeing in Kyoto, waiting to board the Shinkansen, or have some free time near Kyoto Station. After the experience, you can relax while enjoying a drink from [NIWA] in a space where Kyoto’s culture and contemporary art coexist—featuring bamboo art, a tea room, and a courtyard. Be sure to check it out as a new way to experience Kyoto.
